Test with confidence
Testing for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is a key component of an integrated pathogen risk-management strategy with Songbird Life Science. We test people and surfaces (and soon will test air and water) to effectively confirm if the virus is present. A positive test result signals a pre-planned response to be activated. A negative test confirms that existing measures and protocols are working. And should a positive result occur, Songbird experts will then review the existing risk-management plans and facilities to assess whether additional modifications are needed.
Hyris bCUBE: Approved by Health Canada
The Hyris bCUBE is a portable DNA-testing laboratory in a box, offering Point-of-Care (POC) testing wherever people are—any time, anywhere. Approved by Health Canada, the bCUBE can be controlled by any device with an internet connection, including a smartphone. The scientifically validated bCUBE analyzes collected samples through a cloud-based platform that delivers accurate results in 90 minutes.
The bCUBE deploys PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technology that is considered the “gold standard” of testing according to the CDC and WHO’s effective testing guidelines. In clinical trials, the device demonstrated a 95%+ accuracy rate. Similar trials are currently underway with the FDA.
The bCUBE is a small, portable genomic biotechnology that is ideal for onsite, immediate test results. We have validated the bCUBE after using it for several years in the food and natural products industry to identify pathogens, microbes, animal and botanical species ingredients.

An effective testing strategy is key to managing the risk of pathogens—but it must go beyond a test kit and a swab. Accurate testing is dependent on training onsite staff to deploy tests correctly. Test results tell a story. Pathogen and building scientists will interpret that data to determine what adjustments or facility modifications are needed.
