Data privacy and security are foundational principles at Songbird Life Science. Keeping client information safe is at the heart of everything we do.
Information we collect
We collect information about clients when they submit a query through our website, place an order for products or services, and through the course of providing them with products and services.
The types of information we collect about clients includes:
Account data that clients provide when requesting information about our products and services. This may include first and last names, email addresses, locations, contact telephone numbers, job titles, place of employment, etc.
Data about selected products and services that clients are interested in or have purchased, as well as information about their application or deployment of these products and services.
Cookies and analytics
We are continuously improving our website and services with analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors use our websites, products, and tools, as well as what they like and dislike, and where they may have problems. While we maintain ownership of this data, we do not share this type of data about individual users with third parties. You can prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Testing database
We do not require any personally identifiable information (PII) for our testing solutions. Users of our products are required to label samples only with opaque identifiers that provide no information linking samples to any person.
We may periodically spot check our database to ensure that users are properly labeling samples.
Genetic data
The PCR tests processed on the Hyris bCUBE are genetic tests. While samples collected from people do contain human DNA, no information about human DNA is collected or stored. Only information about the presence or absence of specific genetic markers from pathogen DNA is collected.
Operators are required to dispose of samples using appropriate biohazard procedures after testing is complete.
The Hyris bAPP
The Hyris bAPP is administered by Hyris Global Diagnostics and is not subject to this privacy policy. Please refer to their privacy policy for privacy information relating to the bAPP.
How we use information about you
We use information about clients to offer products and services and/or to improve our product offerings. Some specific ways include:
- Delivering products and services that clients have purchased
- Creating and administering client accounts
- Sending confirmation and support emails
- Issuing clients with proposals for products or services
- Sending product updates, marketing information, and service information
- Conducting research and analysis
In processing orders, we may send client details to and use information from credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies.
We use aggregated, anonymized, testing data to improve our products, to look for trends in pathogen spread, and to build new products.
Access to client information, correction, and removal
Client information will be held in our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity or as long as stated in any relevant contract held with us.
Clients have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about them. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email our Privacy Officer at privacy@songbirdlifescience.com.
We also want to make sure that client information is accurate and up to date. If you change your email address, or if any other information we hold about you is inaccurate or out of date, please email our Privacy Officer at privacy@songbirdlifescience.com.
Should you wish for your personal information to be removed from our database or your account to be deactivated, please email our Privacy Officer at privacy@songbirdlifescience.com.
