Rapid IgG/IgM antibody testing

Antibodies are proteins produced in response to a viral infection. IgM (Immunoglobulin M) antibodies are usually the first produced by the immune system when a virus attacks. IgG (Immunoglobulin G) antibodies are longer-lasting antibodies potentially offering protection from future reinfection.

Approved by Health Canada for point-of-care (onsite) testing, the Rapid Response® COVID-19 Antibody Rapid Test is:

BTNX Antibody test

BTNX Rapid Response® COVID-19 IgG/IgM Rapid Test

Songbird’s preferred antibody rapid test is the BTNX Rapid Response® COVID-19 IgG/IgM Rapid Test Device. Unlike other antibody tests, the Rapid Response® Test detects both SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG antibodies.

Ideal use for antibody rapid tests

Different rapid tests serve different purposes. The Rapid Response IgG/IgM test establishes personal protection status. Increasingly, the combination of IgM and IgG detection is providing guidance on infectiousness and vaccine efficacy.

As national experts in point-of-care rapid test deployment, Songbird can establish an antibody testing regime to monitor immunity levels within a population.
